I'm Sarah, I completed the Online Diploma while on Mat Leave & raising two babies (the juggle was real).
I have always loved Interior Design, having renovated a few of my own homes. The transformation is incredible to watch, so I can't wait to do this for a career!
The Brief is to design a new 4-5 star Hotel for The Art Series group in Fremantle WA. The existing site will require a full interior design scheme representing a local artist. The ground floor is to include a Reception, Lift Lobby and a separately operated Bar/Hospitality Venue with amenities. A typical floor plan is to be designed and this will be replicated on Levels 1-3. The accommodation must be a unique experience for adventurous guests wanting a luxurious respite.
Creating an EXPERIENCE for guests which is unique and inspired by the theme of WILD LUXURY is the main focus for the project, while reflecting the natural Western Australian landscape artwork by Claire Beausein.
Western Australian destinations which have been researched and used for the concept design of the entire hotel are the iconic WAVE ROCK, FREMANTLE, and WILDFLOWERS. The hotel evokes a sense of experience for guests which is to be luxurious, in keeping with the 4/5 star hotel rating of the Art Series, while creating a sense of calm, warmth and enhancing character while immersing guests in art in all details of design from curtains, sculptural furniture and finishes, not just your typical art hung on the wall.
The brief was to renovate a separate bathroom and toilet with $30,000. The existing bathroom was very narrow, so the walls were knocked down between the toilet and bathroom and part of the hallway was utilised to create a large spacious bathroom for the young family. A clean, crisp palette with neutral timbers, stone, and rendered walls, creates absolute bohemian luxury inline with the Client Brief.
