Lover of clever designs, mother of two, and nomad by nature.
Hello! I am an Australian graphic designer currently based in Bern, Switzerland. I love helping people create designs that are meaningful and functional. My work is underpinned by core values of trust, humility, progress, and I believe that success is defined NOT by dollars or by followers but how I use my skills to help my community and the environment.
In my former life, I was a public servant in international engagement and programme management. I have also been lucky to travel extensively and live in various places in the AsiaPacific and European region. I love exploring this world with my family.
The main issue in this work-integrated-learning project, was that the existing brand looked too similar to the parent brand and as result was being smothered. The client wanted something distinctive yet harmonious with the parent brand, and speak premium yet also warm and approachable.
Inspiration came from the Blue Mountains region which their undergraduate campus was located, and the region's topography became the analogy for the layers of elements that contributed to the rich educational experience that the school offered to its' students.
I chose to give new branding to this florist shop located in North Perth. Their original brandmark was a run-of-the-mill serif typeface in grey. It did not visually convey the owner’s motto, “We never tire of seeing the difference that flowers and thoughtfulness can make in someone’s day” and I wanted to inject some personality into it. Inspiration came from the autumn colours and woodland critters. The chosen colour palette conveys the warmth and personable approach of the owner. And the squirrel graphic adds a touch of whimsical.
